Trump's 69 Executive Orders, Explained in 69 Sentences

This is an easy to understand and unbiased rundown of Trump's 69 Executive Orders. If you would like to search by date, hit the COMMAND button and the F key at the same time on your computer.

Ever since he was inaugurated, President Trump has issued many executive orders that are set to be implemented soon (or have been implemented already), barring legal intervention.

There is a lot of information all over the internet about these orders that makes everything somewhat difficult to understand, so I boiled down all of his orders into a list (grouped by category), with the link for each executive order attached to each term, attempting to make the actions of the president easier to understand with a sentence explaining each one.

ENVIRONMENTAL

1. The US is currently in the process of withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement. (January 20, 2025)

2. Prior climate orders, and restrictions on appliances were revoked, along with banning EV incentives and mandates. (January 20, 2025)

3. A national energy emergency has been declared, which prioritizes faster energy production and infrastructure development by allowing a bit of flexibility in environmental regulations. (January 20, 2025)

4. The US will open up areas like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil drilling and other resource development purposes as soon as practicable. (January 20, 2025)

5. Paper straws will be no longer provided in federal agency buildings, and paper straw use is discouraged nationwide. (February 10, 2025)

SOCIAL JUSTICE

6. Currently, the United States of America only recognizes two sexes, male and female. (January 20, 2025)

7. The US terminated all DEI, DEIA, and “environmental justice” offices, positions, and actions by 5PM EST on January 22, 2025. (January 20, 2025)

8. The US no longer has diversity or affirmative action practices in federal government. (January 21, 2025)

9. The federal government may revoke funding to schools and colleges that allow biological males to participate in women’s sports. This executive order has zero legal authority for the NCAA. (February 5, 2025)

10. The TikTok ban will not be enforced until at least April 5, 2025. (January 20, 2025)

11. Security clearances are now revoked for 51 former intelligence officials. (January 20, 2025)

12. The Secretary of Defense must create a plan for providing southern border

    security before January 30, 2025, as a National Emergency has been declared. (January 20, 2025)

13. The United States refugee program will be suspended starting at 12:01 am eastern standard time on January 27, 2025. (January 20, 2025)

14. The United States will not grant citizenship to anyone born in the country after February 19, 2025 to those (1) born to a mother unlawfully in the U.S. and a father who wasn’t a U.S. citizen or resident, or (2) born to a mother in the U.S. temporarily and a father who wasn’t a U.S. citizen or resident. NOTE: This EO was ruled unconstitutional. (January 20, 2025)

15. A national emergency has been declared under IEEPA. (January 20, 2025)

16. The “catch and release” policy, which refers to the practice of releasing a migrant into the community while they await hearings instead of detaining them, is currently halted. (January 20, 2025)

17. The United States will not give any foreign aid to countries until at least April 20, 2025, when reviews must be completed. (January 20, 2025)

18. The United States will put places in process to remove all “inadmissible and removable aliens, particularly those aliens who threaten the safety or security of the American people … including through lawful incentives and detention capabilities” as soon as practicable. (January 20, 2025)

19. Government agencies dealing with immigration must toughen the vetting process for immigrants as soon as practicable. (January 20, 2025)

20. As soon as practicable, the Secretary of State will issue guidance that brings the Department of State’s policies, programs, personnel, and operations in line with an “America First” foreign policy. (January 20, 2025)

21. International cartels must be designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, and preparation for the implementation of any decision Trump makes to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 must be completed by February 4, 2025. (January 20, 2025)

31. A pending U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service request to create an indigenous sacred site within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has been denied immediately. (January 20, 2025)

32. 78 of Joe Biden’s executive orders have been revoked. (January 20, 2025)

33. Government Records Concerning the Assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be declassified. (January 23, 2025)

34. The use of federal dollars on abortions will be banned. Two of Joe Biden’s EOs related to increasing access to abortion have been rescinded. (January 24, 2025)

35. A council of less than 20 members has been created to assess the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s future. (January 24, 2025)

36. Emergency Measures to Provide Water Resources in California and Improve Disaster Response in Certain Areas Will Be Provided Immediately. (January 24, 2025)

37. Reinstatement is immediately made available to all members of the military (active and reserve) who were discharged solely for refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. (January 27, 2025)

38. The US Government will no longer provide funding for covering transition-related care for minors, restricting research and education grants to medical schools and hospitals, and directing the secretary of Health and Human Services to issue regulations to end transition-related care for minors altogether. (January 28, 2025)

39. Federal agencies are encouraged to prioritize funding towards expanding school choice initiatives. (January 29, 2025)

40. The US has the right to withhold funding from any schools that teach that the United States is “fundamentally racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory.” The US also encouraged agencies to promote “patriotic education.” (January 29, 2025)

41. A task force named “The White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday” has been established in order to “plan, organize, and execute an extraordinary celebration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence.” A plan for a “National Garden of American Heroes” has been reestablished. 42. By March 29, 2024, the head of each executive department or agency must submit a report to the President, identifying all civil and criminal authorities or actions within the jurisdiction of that agency that might be used to curb or combat anti-semitism. This does include deportation. (January 29, 2025)

43. A task force within the DOJ has been established to investigate and eliminate unlawful government policies that discriminate against Christians. (February 6, 2025)

44. Sanctions have been imposed on individuals associated with the ICC. This stems from investigations involving Israeli and US officials. ICC employees and their immediate family are banned from entering the U.S effective immediately. (February 6, 2025)

45. The AG must evaluate executive actions from 2021-2025 that may or may not infringe on Second Amendment rights by March 9, 2025. (February 7, 2025)

46. The White House Faith Office has been established. (February 7, 2025)

47. The Federal Executive Institute has been eliminated. (February 10, 2025)

48. The Make America Healthy Again commission has been established. (February 13, 2025)

49. The National Energy Dominance Council has been created. (February 14, 2025)

50. Federal funds can no longer be used to support schools with COVID-19 vaccine mandates. (February 15, 2025)

51. The Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy must submit policy recommendations that make IVF more affordable and accessible by May 19, 2025. (February 18, 2025)

52. Independent agencies have to submit huge regulations for review by OIRA before publication. (February 18, 2025)

53. Federal funds can no longer be used to support sanctuary policies. (February 19, 2025)

54. Agencies must work with the OMB to create a plan to eliminate regulations deemed problematic by President Trump. (February 19, 2025)

55. The Presidio Trust, Inter-American Foundation, U.S. African Development Foundation, and U.S. Institute of Peace will have most of their functions eliminated. (February 19, 2025)

ECONOMIC/TECH

56. A “President‘s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets” has been established. (January 23, 2025)

57. The Assistant to The President for Science and Technology (APST), the Special Advisor for AI and Crypto, and the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA) have to develop and submit an AI action plan to Donald Trump by July 22, 2025. (January 23, 2025)

58. A two year “President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology” has been established. (January 23, 2025)

59. The Secretary of Defense will submit to the President a reference architecture, capabilities-based requirements, and an implementation plan for the next-generation missile defense shield similar to Israel’s Iron Dome for the USA by March 27, 2024. (January 27, 2025)

60. A 25% tariff on most Canadian goods will be implemented on February 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET. A 10% tariff on Canadian energy products will also be implemented at that time. (February 1, 2025)

61. The previous executive order (#43)’s implementation date on tariffs has been delayed until March 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET. (February 3, 2025)

62. A 25% tariff all Mexican imports will be implemented on February 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET. (February 1, 2025)

63. The previous executive order (#45)’s implementation date on tariffs has been delayed until March 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET. (February 3, 2025)

69. Non public safety related federal agencies can now only hire one new employee for every four that leave, the OPM must make propose new rules that make federal hiring stricter, adding disqualifications for failing to pay taxes.
